If you enjoy working with young children, consider earning credits in our preschool program! The Renaissance School always welcomes student interns! The preschool operates Monday – Thursday mornings Children are present 9:00 – 12:00 and are 3-5 years old Student interns typically work 8:30 – 1:00, 2-4 mornings per week At the Renaissance School, student interns can: · Work towards practicum or independent study credit · Learn about young children and their families · Discover the Reggio Emilia approach to early education Possible classroom activities include: · Planning creative, developmentally appropriate activities · Leading circle-times and morning meetings · Photographing children to help document their learning · Supporting bilingual children as they interact and learn with others Flexible days and hours, within walking distance of Furcolo Hall **In order to student teach with us as a pre-practicum, practicum, or independent study, you must have a UMASS faculty member sponsor you for credit. Student interns can earn 1-5 academic credits with faculty approval. Applications should be received by May 1,to student teach in the Fall semester.
