Parents
are highly valued at the Renaissance
School and are thought
of as the child's first teachers. The Renaissance School
proudly supports an "open door" policy for parents. Parents are
invited to participate in all aspects of the preschool program and may visit
the classrooms or playground at any time. Strong efforts are made to develop
a sense of community throughout the school.
Examples of parental
involvement include:
- Parent meetings which
promote parent/teacher partnerships
- Parent social events such
as potluck luncheons
- Parent workdays where
parents are invited to help paint, repair, clean and organize classroom
space and equipment
- Fundraising committees
- Parent/teacher conferences
- Parent handbooks and
frequent letters home informing parents about school news.
